1. ZIPPER
A simple interlocking device that replaced Victorian hooks and eyes came our way in 1913.After many improvements, including an exec marketing the first galoshes with the device saying “Zip ‘er’ up!” the world has stayed together ever since.
2. BOTTLE CAP
The simple crimp top was patented by William Painter in 1892 and introduced a new era in keeping beverages fresh. Oddly enough he did not invent an opener.
3. BALLPOINT PEN
Cheap and reliable, the simple rotating ball-in-socket idea came out in 1938 and wrote its own history from there.

The simple safety pin came into being quite simply while Walter Hunt, a New york mechanic, was idly twisting a piece of wire in 1849.

The common paper clip is such a wonder of simplicity it seems puzzling that it wasn’t invented earlier. We had to wait ‘til 1890.
10. POST- IT NOTES
A scientist discovered an imperfect glue in 1940, but it wasn’t until it made the simple connection with paper and emerged as the Post-it note in 1980.
