1. Bearded Dragons are often describe as iguanas or lizards.2. These gentle beasts are from Australia but are now readily available due to their willingness to breed in captivity.
3. These beautiful creatures are highly recommended for families with small children also due to their seeming love for attention.
4. Bearded dragons are appropriately named because of their beard, an expandable throat pouch with spiky scales. The beard is for both mating and aggression displays.
5. They have a broad, triangular head, round body, stout legs, and a robust tail. Their color depends on the soil of the region they live in, ranging from dull brown to tan with red or gold highlights.
6. The beard is intended to make the lizard look larger to enemies.
7. This lizard has a stocky build. The sides of its body are lined with spines and narrow into a triangular shaped head. More spines cover a pouch around its jaw, which when swelled up, looks like a beard. Their coloration ranges from brown, grey, reddish-brown and even bright orange.
