1. The adorably cute red panda, also known as cat bear,firefox and lesser panda, is largely herbivore and an endangered species. Thick fur on the soles offer protection from cold. The pelage is reddish - orange on the body with a long bushy tail.
2. The Red Panda lives in mountains and forests in Nepal, Burma, Central China, Southern Asia, other parts of China, and in the Himalayas.
3. Closest relatives are skunks, raccoons, and otters, weasels and badgers.
4. The Red Panda is the size of a house cat

5. The Panda has long , soft, red brown fur with distinctive black and white markings on its face and a ringed tail.
6. The Panda has long white whiskers.
7. It also gets as long as 79-120 cm long including the 30-60 cm long tail.
8. The Red Panda eats bamboo, fruit, grasses, acorns, roots, eggs, berries, blossoms, various plants, small leaves, and small animals such as insects, small rodents, and young birds.
9. The Red Panda moves slowly on ground, but in trees they are very agile.
10. They use their bushy tails to wraparound them in the chilly mountain heights.
11. Cubs are born in the summer. About 130 days after mating with a Male . A Female gives birth between 1-4 young ones. Before she gives birth she makes a nest under a hollow tree or rock and lines it up with some plants. They stay in the nest for 90 days. Then they leave when the next cubs are born and they are fully grown at 12 months .
12. They live on their own, except for the Females with young. They move slowly on ground, but in trees they are very agile. They’re active at dusk and dawn. They are fairly silent animals.
13. The Red Panda scampers up trees so the enemies wont get it.
14. It uses its sharp claws also to defend themselves.
15. The Red Pandas enemies are the Snow Leopards, Martens, Humans, Bears, and Mountain Lions.
16. The Red Panda is a mix of a Raccoon and a Panda.
17. They also have an extra thumb.
18. Red pandas eats mostly plants like bamboo, fruits, nuts, roots, and lichens. They sometimes eat mice, young birds, eggs, and insects. After they eat, they wash their selves like a cat, licking their front paws and wiping them across their forehead and ears.
19. The red panda lives in the cool climated bamboo forests.
20. A red pandas red and white markings blend in with the red mosses and white lichens that grow on trees in which they live. This makes it harder for a predator to see it. A red panda uses the trees in a bamboo forest to climb. This gives them a place to sleep, and stay away from predators.
21. The red panda is an omnivore and typically eats bamboo.
22. It also eats small animals such as squirrels.
23. Bamboo has low nutritional value, so red pandas have to walk at a slow pace in order to conserve energy. Red pandas cannot digest bamboo fibers very well. Because of this, they have to eat a large amount of bamboo in order to digest. 90% of the food they eat a day is bamboo.
24. The tails of red panda are used as a good luck charm by some people.
25. If a Red Panda feels threatened it will try to run first but if it can no longer flee, it stands on its hind legs to make itself appear larger and uses the sharp claws on its front paws to defend itself.
26. Their claws are long, sharp, and can be retracted. They have strong legs and can climb down trees head first!
27. They are the original pandas, first described in 1821.
28. The web browser Firefox is named after the red panda.
