1. Anacondas are the largest snakes in the world. The size of a big snake like this is 6 meters or 20 feet  long and 149 kg. or 300 pounds.

2. Anacondas make their homes in the amazon jungle. They are part of boa constrictor family. Anacondas live in swamps, marshes, and slow-moving streams, mainly in the tropical rain forests of the Amazon and Orinoco basins.

3. Anacondas give birth to live young.  Around 24-35  are born at a time.

4. The enemies of an anaconda are people and crocodiles. anacondas also  usually flee from their  enemies.

5. They typically feed on large rodents, deer, fish, turtles, birds, sheep, dogs and aquatic reptiles. They have been known to occasionally prey on jaguars and attacks on humans can happen, although this is rare.

6. The Anaconda has a very slow-acting digestive system.  After a big meal the Anaconda will rest for several days while digestion occurs.  Many Anacondas will not eat again for several weeks or even months, depending on the size of the last meal.

16. A female can lay up to 20 to 80 eggs. The largest anacondas are green, yellow and camouflage. They also can have big spots.

17. Each anaconda has its own distinct pattern. No other anaconda has one exactly like the other. They are Cold blooded.

24. One way the anaconda protects itself is by having a bad smell.  Predators do not like it.  Another way the anaconda protects itself is by hissing to scare its predator.  Finally, the anaconda protects itself by puffing itself up.  This scares its predator away.

25. Snakes can stick their tongue out without opening their mouth.  Anacondas are one of the biggest snakes in the world.  Anacondas can only live until ten years old.
